Job summary

Elm Air Conditioning, LLC is seeking an experienced residential HVAC technician to autonomously manage service calls from dispatch to completion. You will diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems, including gas boilers, furnaces, heat pumps and central AC, while maintaining top quality service for homeowners.

Applicants must have EPA 608, 5+ years in the field, and a valid license. A company vehicle, tools, and a strong benefits package are provided, with opportunities for advancement as

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on residential HVAC field service experience.
  • Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential HVAC systems without direct supervision.
  • Heating Systems Expertise: strong experience servicing residential heating equipment; gas boiler experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with furnaces, heat pumps, central AC systems and residential HVAC equipment.
  • EPA Section 608 certification required.
  • NATE certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage residential HVAC service calls from dispatch through completion.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Perform HVAC diagnostics to identify equipment failures, heating issues, cooling problems, and performance concerns.
  • Troubleshoot and repair residential gas heating systems with accurate diagnosis.
  • Complete preventive maintenance, seasonal tune-ups, and system performance evaluations.
  • Explain service recommendations and options clearly to homeowners.
  • Deliver professional customer service while maintaining Elm Air Conditioning, LLC's reputation.
  • Document service calls and repairs using ServiceTitan or similar software.
  • Maintain company-provided vehicles, tools, and inventory.
  • Follow safety procedures and company service protocols.
  • Work independently while communicating with dispatch and the service team.

Your New Role
  • Independently manage residential HVAC service calls from dispatch through completion, taking ownership of your schedule and daily assignments.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems, including furnaces, gas boilers, heat pumps, and central air conditioning units.

  • Perform HVAC diagnostics to identify equipment failures, heating issues, cooling problems, and system performance concerns.

  • Troubleshoot and repair residential gas heating systems, with an emphasis on accurate diagnosis and dependable solutions.

  • Complete preventive maintenance, seasonal HVAC tune-ups, equipment inspections, and system performance evaluations.

  • Identify necessary HVAC repairs and clearly explain service recommendations and available options to homeowners.

  • Deliver professional customer service while building trust and maintaining Elm Air Conditioning, LLC's reputation for quality.

  • Document service calls, diagnostic findings, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately using ServiceTitan or similar field service software.

  • Maintain company-provided service vehicles, HVAC tools, equipment, and truck inventory.

  • Follow established HVAC safety procedures, industry standards, and company service protocols.

  • Work independently while maintaining communication with dispatch and the service team to keep daily operations running smoothly.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying root causes and completing reliable repairs.

  • EPA Section 608 certification required.

  • NATE certification is a plus.

  • Ability to explain technical HVAC issues, repair recommendations, and service options clearly and professionally to homeowners.

  • Ability to maintain accurate service records using ServiceTitan or comparable HVAC field service management software.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, access attics, basements, and crawl spaces, and perform HVAC service work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
