Job summary

Medxcel is seeking an HVAC Technician for the Birmingham, AL area at UAB St. Vincent's Hospital. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy systems.

Qualifications include EPA Certification (Level II preferred), a high school diploma or trade school graduate, and at least 3 years of related experience. The position is day shift, full-time, in Facilities.

• Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs all heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and ice-making systems.
• Applies specialized knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, water reheat systems, and energy management systems.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies, manages power outage procedures, and strictly follows safety protocols using PPE.
• Coordinates with personnel regarding work orders, ensures compliance with building and safety regulations, and keeps tools and vehicles in safe operating condition.
• Dedicates 20% of the role to participating in meetings, training workshops, and assisting with special projects as assigned.
