Job summary

Terrestris LLC in Montgomery, AL is seeking an HVAC Tech to support the Veteran community on a 1-year contract. The role requires 3+ years of experience, OSHA 30 certification, and the ability to work in a hospital maintenance setting.

You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair HVAC systems, and coordinate with facility staff to ensure safe, reliable environmental control for patient care areas. Travel between Montgomery and Tuskegee sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• 3+ years of professional HVAC tech experience in construction.
• OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Work at heights and climb ladders.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Work in high temperatures.
• Work in a noisy environment.
• Exposure to hazards such as asbestos, soot, dirt, chemicals, oil and fumes.
• Ability to wear OSHA‑approved respirator safely.
• Standing and bending for long periods.
• VA experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance such as changing filters, cleaning coils, and checking system performance.
• Inspect HVAC systems for wear and efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions; replace faulty components (motors, compressors, thermostats).
• Monitor and adjust central air systems to ensure environmental control for patient care areas; maintain IAQ.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff and hospital departments for seamless operation.

Position Highlights

• Pay: $25.32+ per hour
• Contract Type: 1-year contract
• Schedule: 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded

Typical Day (Responsibilities)

• 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as changing filters, cleaning coils, and checking system performance.
• Inspect HVAC systems for wear and tear and efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems; replace faulty components such as motors, compressors, and thermostats.
• Monitor and adjust central air conditioning systems to ensure optimal environmental control for patient care areas; maintain indoor air quality by ensuring proper ventilation and humidity control.
• Work closely with other maintenance staff and hospital departments to ensure seamless operation of HVAC systems.
