Job summary

The Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking an HVAC Installation & Repair Supervisor at Indian Creek Correctional Center to oversee and perform maintenance of facility HVAC systems. The role includes supervising inmate workers and coordinating repair projects in a secure environment.

Responsibilities include daily system inspections, responding to service requests, and assisting in related trades as needed. Strong leadership and documentation skills are essential for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of installation, repair, and maintenance practices for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
• Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and supplies related to the trade.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
• Demonstrated ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to maintenance and repair of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provides repair, maintenance, and service of HVAC systems according to building codes and standards.
• Supervises inmate workers in installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
• May respond to emergency callbacks on a rotating basis.
• May assist in other areas of Building and Grounds such as preventative maintenance, construction projects, or outside maintenance.
