Job summary

HomeWorks Energy, Inc. in Massachusetts seeks an HVAC Start Up Technician I (Apprentice) to install and commission systems, perform basic troubleshooting and calibrations, and ensure safety and efficiency before client handover.

You'll work with installation crews across MA, progressing toward Service Tech I/II and Service Lead as you gain experience. The role is full-time, hourly with overtime and performance bonuses, and includes paid training, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA 608 Certification required for refrigerant handling.
• Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship preferred.
• NATE certification is a plus.
• Approximately 1+ year hands-on HVAC experience in start-up, commissioning, or installation.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment, systems, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, test, and commission newly installed HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues using diagnostic tools.
• Commission systems and integrate controls for efficiency and comfort.
• Explain system operation and maintenance to customers; document service activities.
• Collaborate with installation teams and project managers to meet schedules.
• Maintain safety guidelines and perform regular safety checks.
