Job summary

HomeWorks Energy is seeking an HVAC Start Up Technician I to install and commission systems, troubleshoot, and ensure safe, efficient operation before client handoff. The role focuses on startup, calibration, and ensuring performance aligns with specifications and codes.

Based in Massachusetts, you will work across multiple sites with emphasis on collaboration, safety, and quality documentation. The position offers hourly pay, growth toward higher technician levels, and benefits including health

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of HVAC training or apprenticeship.
• EPA 608 Certification required for refrigerant handling.
• NATE certification is a plus.
• 1+ years of hands-on HVAC experience with startup/commissioning.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, systems and controls.
• Proficiency with reading and documenting service orders and system inspections.

Responsibilities

• Start-up and calibration of newly installed HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot performance issues using diagnostic tools.
• Commission systems, connect controls, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Explain operation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps to customers.
• Document service activities and update system documentation.
• Collaborate with installation teams and project managers to meet timelines.
