Job summary

Brent’s Heating & Cooling is hiring an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician based in Carlton, MN, serving Duluth, Cloquet and surrounding communities.

You will independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair furnaces, central AC systems, heat pumps, and related equipment while delivering quality workmanship and clear explanations to customers. A 2+ year track record and EPA 608 certification are required; company vehicle and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential HVAC service, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
• Able to diagnose furnaces and central AC systems.
• Not entry-level or maintenance-only role.

Responsibilities

• Independently run residential HVAC service calls
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair furnaces and central AC systems
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant issues
• Service heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment
• Perform maintenance, tune-ups, and inspections
• Accurately identify equipment failures and complete repairs
• Explain findings and repair options to customers
• Recommend equipment replacement when appropriate
• Complete service documentation and maintain your company vehicle

Brent’s Heating & Cooling is hiring an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician who can independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heating and cooling systems.

If you have 2+ years of residential HVAC service experience, can confidently diagnose furnaces and central AC systems, and take pride in doing the job right, this could be a great fit.

This is not an entry-level or maintenance-only position.

This position is based in Carlton, MN, serving Duluth, Cloquet, Carlton, and surrounding communities.

What You’ll Do

• Independently run residential HVAC service calls

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair furnaces and central AC systems

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant issues

• Service heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment

• Perform maintenance, tune‑ups, and inspections

• Accurately identify equipment failures and complete repairs

• Explain findings and repair options clearly to customers

• Recommend equipment replacement when appropriate

• Complete service documentation and maintain your company vehicle

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of residential HVAC service, troubleshooting, and repair experience

• Ability to independently diagnose and repair furnaces and central AC systems

• Experience independently running service calls

• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

• Working knowledge of refrigerant systems

• EPA Section 608 Certification

• Valid driver’s license

• Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to report to Carlton, MN

• Experience with heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, boilers, refrigeration, or light commercial HVAC is a plus.
