Cooling Unlimited in Reading, MA seeks an HVAC Service Operations Manager to lead the service department, direct technicians, and optimize daily operations. You will drive efficiency, ensure high service standards, and provide the direction needed for a high-performing team.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong HVAC knowledge and a focus on mentoring staff, scheduling, budgeting, and customer satisfaction within a growing family-owned company.

HVAC Service Operations Manager

$90,000–$100,000 Salary + Performance Bonus

Cooling Unlimited has been serving Middlesex County since 1986. We're a family-owned HVAC company built on quality work, dependable service, and strong customer relationships.

We're looking for an HVAC Service Manager to take ownership of our service department. You'll lead technicians, oversee daily operations, improve efficiency, and make sure the team has the support and direction needed to succeed.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced HVAC professional who is ready to step into greater responsibility while staying connected to the technical side of the business.

What You'll Handle

• Direct daily service operations
• Manage technician schedules and dispatch
• Monitor service calls and workflow
• Help resolve field and customer issues
• Review invoices and job records
• Track department performance and KPIs
• Maintain safety and quality standards
• Support maintenance and demand-service operations

Lead and Develop the Team

Your leadership will directly shape the performance of the service department.

• Coach and mentor technicians
• Set clear performance expectations
• Provide feedback and accountability
• Identify training opportunities
• Help technicians with difficult troubleshooting
• Build a strong, team-focused culture

Help Improve the Business

You'll also have a voice in how the department operates and performs.

• Improve scheduling and workflow
• Monitor productivity and efficiency
• Assist with budgeting and cost control
• Review department performance
• Maintain consistent service standards

What You Bring

• 4–6+ years of HVAC experience
• Residential service and/or install background
• Previous leadership or mentoring experienceStrong organizational skills
• Service operations experience
• Confident troubleshooting ability
• Strong communication skills
• EPA Certification required

Compensation:

$90,000–$100,000 base salary + performance bonus
