Job summary

Able Heating and Air in Culpeper, VA has an immediate opening for an experienced Service Dispatcher to manage daily service schedules for our technicians and ensure commitments are met. This role requires confident communication and strong process-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate appointments, assign technicians based on location and skill, and keep customers, technicians, and managers informed of status and updates.

Qualifications

• Two years of administrative, process-management, or project-management experience; HVAC trade preferred.
• Prior dispatching experience in HVAC or similar trades strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, prioritize, and dispatch service and maintenance calls
• Monitor technicians' progress and adjust schedules throughout the day
• Keep customers informed of appointment times, delays, and service updates
• Prepare estimates, schedule approved work, and coordinate return visits
• Communicate with warehouse staff to ensure parts and materials are available
• Maintain accurate customer records, job notes, invoices, timesheets, and dispatch tickets
• Monitor open work orders and follow through to completion
• Assist with workload planning, maintenance scheduling, and parts ordering
• Collaborate with technicians and department managers to support efficient daily operations
