Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced HVAC/R technician to install and service commercial refrigeration and building systems in Danville, VA. You will lead field teams, mentor apprentices, and ensure compliance with safety standards while coordinating service calls and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC‑R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC and refrigeration systems per plans and specs.
• Lead field teams and mentor technicians on procedures and safety.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain service outcomes.
