Job summary

Walmart seeks a skilled HVAC/R technician to install and service commercial refrigeration and climate control systems across multiple facilities in the Danville region. You will interpret blueprints, calibrate controls, and ensure compliance with building codes.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and guiding field teams while maintaining safety protocols and customer satisfaction. On‑call rotations and driving company vehicles are required.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid state driver's license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Commercial driving record with no major violations in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Configures and calibrates low ambient systems and direct digital controls to meet specifications.
• Interprets layout plans and schematics for accurate system setup and code compliance.
• Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial systems.
• Implements preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Leads field teams and mentors apprentices on procedures and safety practices.
• Drives a company vehicle to service calls and coordinates with stakeholders.
