Job summary

Smart Care is seeking an HVAC/Refrigeration Application Engineer to translate customer requirements into qualified equipment for sale, installation and maintenance. You will assemble loads, specify equipment, and provide submittal information for drawings and quotes, while ensuring compliance with refrigerant regulations and industry standards.

The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners, strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel up to 10% to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience with HVAC/Refrigeration equipment.
• Understanding of HVAC/Refrigeration systems and components.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer HVAC/Refrigeration requirements into equipment specifications and sourcing.
• Assemble loads from plans and calculate requirements for warehouses and cold storage.
• Source equipment from supplier partners meeting specifications and loads.
• Provide submittal information for refrigeration drawings and MEP sets (weights, dimensions, electrical).
• Generate equipment and installation quotes for sales presentations.
• Coordinate with project management on budgets, schedules, and installation times.
• Review refrigeration drawings for accuracy and compliance with specs.
• Stay current on refrigerant regulations and new A2L/CO2 requirements.
