Job summary

Walmart is seeking a skilled HVAC/R technician in Ocean Springs, MS to install, calibrate, and maintain commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems. You will interpret blueprints and schematics, diagnose issues, and coordinate with managers and customers to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires EPA 608 certification, 2–4 years of maintenance or construction experience, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Option: HVAC/R certification and 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field.
• Option: 4 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for HVAC/R and building controls.
• EPA 608 refrigerant handling certification.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.
• No DUI/DWI convictions in last 5 years; clean CDL with no major violations within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Configures and calibrates low ambient systems and direct digital controls.
• Interprets layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure proper setup and code compliance.
• Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues on commercial/industrial systems.
• Leads field teams and mentors technicians and apprentices on procedures and safety.
• Drives a company vehicle to service calls and coordinates with customers and partners.
• Participates in on-call rotation and supports after-hours issues and escalations.
