Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an HVAC/R systems expert to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex campus systems, including air handling units, chillers, and building automation. The role involves working with pneumatic and electric systems, DDCs, and direct digital controls, with safety-first procedures in occupied spaces for the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King.

The position offers a 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling certification
• Ability to meet Wisconsin Fleet vehicle standards

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electric, and HVAC/R systems throughout campus.
• Work on equipment including air handling units, chillers, cooling tower, refrigerators, hydronic heating, unit heaters, compressors, DDCs, and BAS
• Operate and troubleshoot building automation systems and direct digital controls
• Ensure safety and compliance while working in occupied spaces
• Prepare for after-hours call-ins and potential probationary period compliance
