Job summary

Hudson Technologies is seeking a Service Technician II to join our U.S. field service team. As an intermediate-level technician, you will perform HVAC/R service and refrigerant recovery with minimal supervision and mentor Tech I staff on the job.

You will handle routine field work, advanced troubleshooting of chillers and refrigeration systems, and participate in special projects like retrofit conversions. A strong safety mindset and reliable travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years hands-on HVAC/R field service experience (progression from Tech I).
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required at this level. OSHA-10 safety training required; OSHA-30 a plus.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet DOT requirements for operating service vehicles. Forklift certification required if not already held.

Responsibilities

  • Independent field work executing routine service and refrigerant recovery with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of chiller and refrigeration systems, diagnosing leaks and faults.
  • Assist senior technicians on complex projects such as retrofit conversions or decontamination procedures.
  • On-site coordination to ensure tools, materials, and inventory are prepared; communicate progress to the Lead or Manager.
  • Mentor Tech I employees, providing guidance on procedures, safety, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Interact with customers, explain work performed, and ensure client satisfaction before leaving site.
