Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Glendale, AZ is seeking an HVAC/R Technician to oversee installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of refrigeration and walk-in systems.

The role requires strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant systems, with emphasis on safety, OSHA/EPA compliance, and preventive maintenance. The position includes leading field teams, mentoring technicians, managing parts and vendor relationships, and participating in on-call rotations to support 24/7

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal).
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman when required.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems.
• Leads diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Implements and monitors preventive maintenance programs.
• Manages rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and supermarket refrigeration units.
• Ensures OSHA/EPA compliance and environmental guidelines.
• Coordinates service calls and regional workloads to meet priorities.
• Delivers safety and operation training to technicians.
• On-call rotation to support critical needs outside standard hours.
