Job summary
Methodist Hospitals is seeking an experienced HVAC and refrigeration technician to operate, monitor, and repair hospital systems, including chillers, ice machines, water coolers, pumps, towers, and building automation controls. You will perform preventive maintenance and respond to issues to keep equipment running reliably and safely in a demanding healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate holds EPA 608 certification, a journeyman license or an associate degree in HVAC, and at least four years
Qualifications
- EPA 608 certification required and refrigerant handling knowledge.
- Direct experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings.
- Journeyman level training or associate degree in HVAC or related field.
- Military or commercial HVAC work may substitute for formal credentials.
Responsibilities
- Conducts daily rounds and logs discrepancies; performs minor repairs.
- Informs supervisor of major issues and assists with scheduling repairs.
- Inspects and repairs piping for water coolers and cooling systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance on cooling systems and equipment.
- Prioritizes and schedules repairs via work order system per policy.
