Job summary

Nextech is hiring an Installation Technician to install light commercial HVAC/R equipment, maintain records, and manage a work vehicle from home. This full-time non-exempt role requires coordinating tasks, safety adherence, and strong communication with team members and customers.

The position entails reading blueprints, fabricating ductwork, installing systems, and traveling to sites. EPA certification and a valid driver's license are required; 2+ years in HVACR installations is preferred.

Qualifications

• EPA Certification required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an HVACR Assistant Installer, or Commercial Refrigeration Installer or equivalent.
• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
• Knowledge with advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for iPad and cell phone communication and documentation.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays - if needed.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to and from home, Branch office, and work sites.
• Coordinate and communicate work tasks with team members.
• Coordinate and communicate work status with city officials, crane operators, other contractors, jobsite customer representatives, and/or property managers.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely records to keep Branch Office informed.
• Maintain physical plans, paperwork, and files related to work.
• Measure and fabricate ductwork to project specifications.
• Install and insulate duct systems.
• Perform gas piping installation and layout.
• Replace rooftop units (RTUs) safely and efficiently.
• Replace split systems and boilers.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely project completion.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Follow all service procedures per customer including IVR check-in, backup paperwork, and photo documentation.
• Monitor and improve job safety, quality, and productivity.
• Follow Nextech standards, policies, & procedures.
• Participate in training and testing programs.
