Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician, Facility Services in Sarasota, FL to install, maintain, and repair HVAC/refrigeration systems in commercial settings. You will interpret schematics, diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and manage refrigerant handling while leading field teams.

The role requires OSHA/EPA certifications, driver’s license, and strong communication skills to coordinate with management and customers.

Qualifications

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the FMCSR, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, reach-ins, and rack systems to ensure optimal operation.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations and safety standards.
Lead and mentor field teams, providing technical guidance and promoting safe work practices.
Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory records.
Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
