Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking an HVAC/R Apprentice to learn and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on store HVAC systems, ice machines, and refrigeration equipment. You will work under a mentor, complete work orders, and maintain service records in Service Channel.

The role involves after-hours on-call rotation, traveling within the assigned region, and growing skills under supervision toward EPA certification and state licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, electrical systems and plumbing.
• EPA Universal Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel daily in the region.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use maintenance management software.

Responsibilities

• Assist an experienced technician in completing assigned work orders and repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC/R and related equipment.
• Complete and maintain preventive maintenance documentation.
• Provide timely status updates to maintenance leadership and customers.
• Respond to after-hours and weekend service calls as needed.
• Track refrigerant usage per Brand standards and EPA requirements.
• Order repair parts and perform minor repairs on refrigeration components.
• Support electrical troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
