Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking an HVAC/R Technician - Apprentice to learn and develop preventive maintenance and repair skills for store HVAC systems, ice machines, and refrigeration equipment. You will work under a mentor, complete work orders, and maintain service records in the maintenance system.

You will participate in after-hours on-call rotations and grow toward EPA compliance, while supporting customer service and operating needs across assigned stores.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, electrical systems, and plumbing.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA Universal Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to obtain state licensure (if applicable) within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist an experienced technician or supervisor in completing assigned work orders and scheduled repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC/R and related equipment.
• Complete and maintain preventive maintenance checklists and documentation.
• Provide timely work status updates to maintenance leadership, operational teams, and customers.
• Conduct general maintenance tasks involving refrigeration systems, air conditioning, heating, and electrical components.
• Track and document refrigerant usage in accordance with Brand standards and EPA requirements.
