Job summary

Modigent is seeking a Project Manager to lead and manage commercial HVAC projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to deliver on-time, on-budget results with safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You will work with operations leadership to identify risks, track budgets, and drive profitability while mentoring teams nationwide across operating companies.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial HVAC/mechanical construction
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience with strong HVAC knowledge considered
• Certifications such as PMP, LEED, OSHA 30-hour are a plus; valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Manage full project lifecycle: planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, change orders, and closeout for HVAC/mechanical projects
• Review bid documents, drawings, and scopes early to identify potential issues, opportunities, risks, omissions, and value engineering possibilities; develop workable solutions
• Collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, and operations teams to create realistic schedules, budgets, and project plans
• Track project budgets, costs, labor productivity, variances, and forecasts; identify shortcomings or opportunities and implement corrective actions
• Promote open communication among project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal departments to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment
• Organize and lead coordination meetings, site walks, and progress reviews; maintain detailed documentation of scope changes, execution decisions, costs, and client communications
• Ensure strict adherence to contract documents, specifications, company policies, safety requirements, quality expectations, and ethical standards
• Champion quality assurance and ensure installations meet/exceed industry standards; prevent call-backs and partner with quality teams
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, architects, engineers, GCs, subcontractors, and vendors to support repeat business
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop project team members; track performance and participate in hiring as needed
• Enforce safety compliance across teams and uphold safety protocols at all times
• Provide leadership vision for project planning, coordination, sequencing, labor utilization, and continuous improvement; communicate updates to executive leadership
