Job summary

SPX Technologies in Kansas and Overland Park is seeking an Engineer I to provide engineering support across multiple business units. You will identify product improvement ideas and perform design, research, and analyses to bring projects to market. Work under supervision with established procedures in a cross-functional team environment.

This role encourages innovation, drives efficiency in technical support, and supports industrial HVAC-related projects within a global engineering context.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in 3D modeling software.
• Understanding of ERP system, BOM creation and document management.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to identify issues and implement changes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across levels.
• Familiarity with project management principles and coordinating multiple projects.
• Proficiency in CAD and related software tools.
• Strong MS Office skills for creating reports and summaries.

Responsibilities

• Technical engineering design and support for various projects.
• Use engineering principles and product specs to answer technical questions.
• Identify opportunities for product and process improvements with drawings and BOMs.
• Identify cost savings on products and labor.
• Perform finite element and structural analyses on products.
• Create product models and BOMs from 3D models.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to meet production goals and provide technical guidance.
• Design and modelling using 3D software; manage data in ERP.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects from planning through completion.
• Stay updated on industry trends and propose relevant improvements.
