Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking an Application Engineer II to join the HVAC division in Kansas. You will serve as the liaison between external customers and internal departments, contributing to product applications excellence and technical advocacy.

You will collaborate with sales, project management, manufacturing, and engineering to deliver solutions, provide training, and ensure accurate submittals and pricing for bids. Experience with heat transfer and HVAC systems is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Fundamental knowledge in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Familiarity with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of technical and commercial project variables with the ability to proactively initiate action.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to sales and internal teams.
• Assist with factory and R&D tours for internal teams and external customers.
• Advise field sales on product details to obtain solutions.
• Deliver technical training and presentations to internal teams and external customers.
• Determine accurate information for each sales order.
• Develop strategies from project variables to maximize winning jobs.
• Collaborate with sales to evaluate requirements and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams as necessary.
• Analyze RFQ drawings and project specs for site needs and compliance.
• Support proposal development with wind/seismic, sound, and controls considerations, and pricing.
• Prepare accurate submittal documents for client delivery.
• Coordinate order and project information with the project manager.
• Assist with pricing change orders.
• Represent SPX at trade shows.
