Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a knowledgeable Counter Sales Associate in Round Rock, TX. You will be a trusted advisor to plumbing and HVAC contractors, using product expertise and problem-solving to guide purchasing decisions while aligning with our sales strategy.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm plus 1 Saturday every 6-8 weeks (7:30am-11:30am). You will upsell, serve customers, and coordinate with Outside Sales to grow accounts and ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in customer service or sales; plumbing/HVAC experience preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals and influence purchasing decisions.
• Strong communication for consultative selling and customer engagement.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Digital literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert by applying knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and related products to guide decisions.
• Drive sales by identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and promote strategic products and programs.
• Use catalogs, computer systems, and manufacturer databases to locate parts and provide accurate information.
• Process transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy and a positive experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Associates to support account growth and service.
• Manage special orders, track back-orders, and communicate delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional, organized counter environment reflecting quality and service.
