Job summary

R.E. Michel Company in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Warehouse/Counter Service associate to support branch operations. This full-time, non-exempt role handles customer service, invoicing, loading items, and delivering to customer locations.

Responsibilities include safe operation of MHE, order picking, processing paperwork, handling payments, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness. Applicants must be 18+ and able to pass pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication with the public and customers.
• Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills for service.
• Proficient with computers and order processing systems.
• Experience with Prophet 21 or similar ERP system is a plus.
• Ability to read invoices, catalogs, stock numbers and descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast and friendly customer service in person or by phone.
• Greet customers and maintain a positive branch presence.
• Ensure orders, invoices, CODs, and shipping paperwork are accurate.
• Pull orders from warehouse and load into delivery trucks or customer vehicles.
• Process payments and ensure all product leaving the branch is billed.
• Handle customer returns and warranties the same day they are received.
• Operate lift truck or other material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety; report issues promptly.
• Support other warehouse duties as needed.
