Job summary

Aggreko in Columbia (Lexington), SC is seeking a Technician 1- HVAC or Power to perform maintenance and repairs on generators, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air systems. You will work from our Columbia service center and travel locally in a company vehicle.

The role requires 4–7 years on generators or commercial HVAC systems, the ability to read schematics, and a valid driver's license. Some overtime and travel may be involved, with a safety-focused culture and ongoing technical training.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.

Responsibilities

• Based out of the Columbia (Lexington), SC service center and travel daily in your company vehicle.
• Work overtime and weekends when needed; travel may be required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs.
• Operate equipment at the shop and at customer sites, solo or in a team.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Columbia (Lexington), SC service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle.
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs.
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with other technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and and on customer sites.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• 4-7 years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Availability to work the assignedschedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be onstandbyfor work outside of regularly scheduledshifts.
• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices.
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level.
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders.
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat.
