Job summary

Goettl Air Conditioning Inc in San Marcos, TX is seeking an HVAC Operations Manager to build and lead a brand-new market from day one. You will recruit the founding team, set safety and quality standards, shape the culture, and drive revenue growth with established systems behind you.

Qualifications

• 2+ years management experience in residential HVAC operations.
• Strong technical, business, and communication skills within the HVAC trade.
• Experience overseeing a service and installation department and enforcing standards.
• High-energy, results-oriented leader with integrity.
• Confident communicator, comfortable speaking to large groups.
• Highly organized with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and develop the founding HVAC service and installation team.
• Implement, improve, and enforce industry-standard safety procedures.
• Set, track, and improve department KPIs: engagement, turnover, incidents, reviews, on-time, and jobs per tech.
• Lead daily management of the department and respond to customer feedback.
• Improve technician development, returns/warranty, batching, and inventory to expand gross margin.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting and align with GM to hit sales growth and EBITDA targets.
• Hold every team member accountable to the Goettl Way.

As our HVAC Operations Manager, you'll report directly to our General manager and own this market from the first hire forward. You'll recruit the founding team, set the safety and quality standards, shape the culture, and decide how Goettl shows up in this community, all with the systems, training, and reputation of an established company behind you. What You'll Do:

• Recruit, hire, and develop the founding team of HVAC service and installation technicians, then build the engagement and accountability that keeps them
• Implement, improve, and enforce industry-standard safety procedures
• Set, track, and improve department KPIs: engagement and turnover, recordable incidents and Samsara driving scores, callbacks and customer reviews, on-time arrival, and jobs completed per technician per day
• Lead daily management of the department, acting with urgency on customer reviews, callbacks, cancellations, and average ticket
• Continuously improve technician development, returns/warranty, batching, and inventory processes to expand gross margin
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for the department, and partner with the General Manager and other departments to hit sales growth and EBITDA targets
• Hold every team member accountable to the Goettl Way

What We Need:

• 2+ Years management experience in Residental HVAC Operations.
• Strong technical, business, and communication skills within the HVAC trade
• Proven ability to oversee all operations of a service and installation department and drive accountability to company standards
• A dynamic, high-energy, results-oriented leader who operates with integrity
• Confident communicator, comfortable speaking in front of large groups
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
• Highly computer literate: email, MS Office, and ServiceTitan; CRM or job scheduling software experience a plus
• Able to split time between desk work and the field, including standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting up to 15 lbs
