Qualifications

• No formal education or experience required for this class.
• Must be physically able to perform the tasks and understand written or oral instructions.
• If operating motor vehicles, must have a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine maintenance of equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, steam, gas and water lines, and related HVAC equipment.
• Carry out proactive maintenance on HVAC equipment (lubricating machinery, replacing belts, filters, cleaning).
• Perform preventive maintenance in boiler, chiller, pump, AHU and other mechanical equipment rooms.
• Learn operating procedures for various HVAC equipment on Campus following directions.
• Participate in in-service training and on-the-job instruction related to HVAC operation and engineering.
• Clean parts, equipment, areas, and paint HVAC equipment and related areas.
