Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc. seeks motivated apprentices to train on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites. You will participate in the Service Technical Academy to build skills, with pathways to recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement.

Through coaching, you will learn to troubleshoot customer needs, stay aligned with job progress, and complete required union training in the first year. Upselling opportunities and service recommendations will be part of the role.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in HVAC servicing or related maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems and facilities management concepts.
• Ability to communicate ethically and professionally with customers.
• Leadership to support mechanics on non-complex equipment.
• Safety-focused approach in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Train on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites.
• Participate in Service Technical Academy training for skill development and advancement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs with coaching.
• Keep customer, contractors, and JCI updated on job progress and issues.
• Meet union training attendance requirements in the first year.
• Provide recommendations to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
• Prepare and present quotes to support recommendations.
