Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring apprentices to train on HVAC equipment and controls at client sites, supported by the Service Technical Academy. This bargaining unit position emphasizes safety, mentorship, and hands-on diagnostics in building systems.

You will help customers achieve efficient operation and upsell where appropriate, with union-backed training and a clear path to advancement within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industry experience or servicing mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems and facilities management.
• Strong interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
• Leadership to support technicians on non-complex HVAC equipment.
• Self-starter able to work independently and prioritize safety.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Trade school or college in a technical emphasis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and issues.
• Act as a trusted advisor, delivering solutions at the time of service.
• Apprentices will train and perform on HVAC equipment and controls on client sites.
• Meet attendance requirements for required Union training in year one.
• Offer recommendations and solutions to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
