Job summary

Apprentices will train through the Service Technical Academy, with mentorship to troubleshoot issues, learn from industry pros, and progress toward recognition, rewards, and advancement within a union-led framework.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• General knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts.
• Leadership skills to support activities of Mechanics working on non-complex HVAC equipment on a job site.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Prioritize safety in all forms.
• This position requires a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.
• Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.
• You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
• You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
