Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Apprentice to train on mechanical equipment and controls at client sites. The role offers apprenticeship-backed growth, with certification through the Service Technical Academy and opportunities to advance within a collaborative, safety-conscious team.

You will troubleshoot, assist with facility efficiency, and provide quotes to support service recommendations while maintaining strong customer relations and adherence to union training schedules.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industry experience or experience servicing HVAC systems.
• Mechanical HVAC knowledge and facilities management basics.
• Strong interpersonal skills for customer-facing interactions.
• Leadership to support mechanics on non-complex equipment on job sites.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Safety-first mindset and adherence to safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites.
• Participate in Service Technical Academy training to build skills and advancement.
• Develop troubleshooting and issue-resolution capabilities through coaching and mentorship.
• Keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Meet attendance requirements for union training in the first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to improve facility efficiency and upsell opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
