Fuss & O'Neill is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to join our Hartford-area MEP team. The role focuses on HVAC design, with opportunities in plumbing and energy-efficiency projects, combining design work with field investigations and construction support.

The candidate will work on a variety of building projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to code-compliant engineering analyses while enjoying a hybrid work arrangement and strong work-life balance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably HVAC consulting.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• EIT certification or progress toward obtaining an EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC designs and engineering solutions for various projects, including load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Create and update mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, coordinating with other disciplines.
• Conduct weekly field investigations and site visits; support construction administration and submittal reviews.
• Manage tasks independently while collaborating with senior engineers on decisions and design reviews.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and documents complying with codes such as IBC, IMC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IECC.
