Job summary

Piedmont Service Group is seeking an HVAC Mechanic, Level II, to independently perform preventive maintenance, predictive repairs, and service on HVAC systems. The role requires reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, with emphasis on ductwork, sheet metal, and refrigerant practices.

Level II will mentor Level I Mechanics and support team effectiveness. The candidate will read blueprints, test systems, and ensure proper operation, while maintaining safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• HVAC vocational or trade certificate with >3 years experience.
• Strong troubleshooting experience and ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Ability to communicate services performed to customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance and service repairs on HVAC systems without supervision.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, startup, adjust and replace mechanical equipment and control components.
• Identify predictive failures and provide information for spot quotes.
• Start up and commissioning of standard HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components.
• Replace or repair defective motors, controls, and wiring.
• Test systems to ensure proper functioning after service.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specs.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Follow all required safety protocols.
• Mentor Level I HVAC Mechanics to support skill development.
