Job summary

LB&B Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanic to support the Mecklenburg County Courthouse in Charlotte, NC. The role involves diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining indoor air quality.

You will work 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with potential on-call or weekend work. Required EPA 608 Universal certification and NC HVAC licensure; OSHA 10/30 preferred. Strong technical and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

5–10 years HVAC experience in commercial or government facilities.
EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal) required
NC HVAC License H1/H2 or Master HVAC License required
OSHA 10 or 30 certification - Preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and control systems.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
Monitor and adjust BAS to optimize temperature, humidity, and air quality.
Respond promptly to service calls and work orders; maintain records of activities.
Ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and building standards.
Assist with installation and commissioning of new HVAC equipment as needed.
Collaborate with maintenance staff for seamless operations.
