Job summary

Alamance County Government seeks a Maintenance Specialist (HVAC) to maintain and repair building systems, with emphasis on HVAC and plumbing. You may work independently or supervise semi-skilled staff to complete tasks effectively.

The role requires knowledge across multiple trades, on-call rotation for evenings/weekends, and compliance with county safety policies. A valid NC driver’s license and EPA 608 certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and four years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC maintenance or equivalent.
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred.
• Familiarity with building systems and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains varied heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
• Ensure installations meet set standards and calibrate thermostats and controls.
• Perform checks on motors, belts, and replace worn parts.
• Repair motors and service hot water boilers as needed.
• Assist with inventory and procurement of HVAC supplies and equipment.
