Job Title: HVAC Mechanic

Pay Rate: $18.19 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair the facility's environmental control systems to ensure proper operation and energy optimization.
2. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC units, boilers, chillers, and energy management systems.
3. Diagnose malfunctions by inspecting and listening to machines and equipment, dismantle defective parts, install repaired or new parts, and test operation.
4. Operate various tools and diagnostic hardware necessary for repairs.
5. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC units, including electronic and mechanical components, ductwork, fuel, and water supply lines.
6. Install, maintain, and repair computerized and electronic control devices related to HVAC and heat control.
7. Program and repair automated machinery such as temperature control units, testing and adjusting controls as needed.
8. Ensure safety by following policies, inspecting for contraband, and maintaining tools and equipment properly.
9. Complete work orders, reports, and requisitions promptly and accurately.
10. Supervise and coordinate inmate/resident movement related to maintenance tasks.
11. Adhere to safety policies, EPA standards, and respond appropriately to emergencies.
12. Travel domestically within the U.S. as required.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience with large commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems.
• Possession of a Type 1 or Type 2 EPA 608 license.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
