Job summary

Johnstone Supply in El Cajon, CA is seeking a Material Handler I to receive, fill, and ship products with accuracy and speed. You will operate forklifts, RF scanners, and wrap/pack orders, while maintaining inventory accuracy and safety standards.

This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, basic math, and the ability to read packing lists and SOPs. OSHA familiarity and forklift certification are preferred or obtainable on the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 0–1 year experience or equivalent.
• Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
• Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and HVAC wholesale industry.

Responsibilities

• Receives, fills, and ships products accurately and efficiently.
• Operates power equipment (forklift, pallet jack) safely to move products.
• Inspects shipments, verifies quantities, and completes paperwork.
• Maintains accurate barcodes/stock numbers and updates inventory records.
• Packs orders securely and prepares shipments for transport.
• Maintains a safe, clean work area and adheres to SOPs.
