Job summary

Wright State University is seeking a Facilities Maintenance II - HVAC to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems across university facilities. You’ll use building automation to improve energy efficiency and may lead teams on projects.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety compliance, with the ability to read schematics and coordinate with other trades as needed.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience in building maintenance.
• Certificate from an advanced one year technical/vocational air conditioning and heating program, and two years of full-time experience in skilled commercial/industrial heating and air conditioning; OR a high school diploma or equivalent, and three years of full-time experience in skilled commercial/industrial heating and air conditioning.
• Must be familiar with concepts, practices, and procedures in building maintenance trade and safety.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend common vocabulary; read blueprints or schematics if needed.
• Pre-employment physical examination required; annual may be required.
• Must have valid U.S. driver’s license for at least one year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems in university buildings.
• Lead and direct project teams when needed.
• Perform day-to-day inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Work with building automation systems to optimize energy efficiency.
• Follow safety procedures and keep accurate maintenance records.
