Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Lab Technician - 2nd shift in New Freedom, PA to support the development and testing of next-generation HVAC equipment. You will set up and operate performance tests, install and configure instrumentation, and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, controls, and facility systems to ensure accurate results.

This role works with engineers and technicians to improve test processes, train others, and maintain a world-class testing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC, refrigeration, or related technical experience.
• Understanding of HVAC principles and control systems.
• US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident and able to work night shift.
• Ability to review specifications and resolve design discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Configuration and validation of temperature, pressure, and power meters.
• Program test sequences into data acquisition software for automated tests.
• Maintain instrumentation lists and test protocols.
• Review test data for accuracy and validation against expectations.
• Develop and update procedures for equipment and facility operation.
• Provide first-level troubleshooting for ongoing tests and modifications.
• Train and support other lab team members as needed.
• Coordinate with Test Lab to assemble equipment and instruct staff.
