Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Senior Engineering Technician - 3rd Shift (New Freedom, PA). The role supports the testing of large commercial HVAC equipment, supervising instrumentation and data acquisition to ensure precise performance results.

You will train teammates, troubleshoot systems, and help refine test processes in a challenging lab environment. Candidates should have 3+ years in HVAC/refrigeration, knowledge of controls and refrigerant handling, plus the ability to program data

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC/refrigeration experience in industrial settings.
• Experience with HVAC systems operations, controls, and refrigerant management.
• Ability to review specs, perform calculations, and write test instructions.

Responsibilities

• Configure, setup, and validate operation of measurement devices per procedures.
• Program test sequences into data acquisition software for automated tests.
• Maintain instrumentation lists and automated test protocols.
• Review test data for accuracy and compare with expected results.
• Develop and maintain procedures for equipment or lab operations.
• Provide first‑level troubleshooting and support for test activities.
• Coordinate logistics and documentation per company procedures.
• Assist in training other team members and liaise with Test Lab staff.
