Johnson Controls is seeking a Truck Based Service Manager in the Chicago area to lead a field service team focused on profitability, productivity, customer satisfaction and safety compliance. The role combines people leadership with financial discipline and day-to-day service execution across cross-functional teams.

You will oversee staffing, budgeting, and performance reviews, drive L&M growth, and ensure on-time, high-quality service delivery while maintaining safety standards and strong

Qualifications

• Three or more years of management experience in a similar service-delivery environment.
• Strong ability to prioritize work activities, manage scheduling, and lead a diverse team.
• Demonstrated competence in written and verbal communication and basic financial accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field service team focused on account performance, labor and material growth, and strong service execution.
• Set and monitor gross margin delivery, profitability, and overall service performance.
• Drive L&M growth through Technicians and Team Leads while ensuring service commitments are met.
• Lead warranty issue resolution and ensure timely service delivery.
• Review and approve L&M quotations aligned with business expectations.
• Manage customer relationship development and satisfaction through proactive follow-up and communication.
• Support staff development, retention, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
• Maintain staffing levels to support current workload and new business opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and accounts payable/receivable activities tied to service operations.
• Procure and maintain fleet and tools inventory to support field execution.
• Ensure consistent delivery systems through supervision and audits of team members.
