Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a field-based HVAC installer to perform installation, commissioning and service on commercial HVAC systems at customer sites. You will plan tasks, read drawings, and coordinate with other trades to ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2–5 years of Commercial HVAC installation experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone, iPad).
• State Contractor Licenses preferred (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer).
• Valid driver’s license for 12+ months with clean record in the past 3 years.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start-up HVAC systems.
• Plan, analyze and complete assigned projects on time.
• Read construction drawings and install equipment per specs.
• Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes.
• Conduct site surveys and on-site modifications as needed.
• Prepare on-site installation by layout and coordinating with other trades.
• Maintain inventory and document activities.
• Record parts, labor and costs per assignment.
• Provide training at customer sites.
• Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel.
• Complete paperwork including time, progress and duration.
• Represent the company as the on-site customer contact and service products.
• Stay up-to-date on Trane products and direct digital control systems.
