Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Field-based HVAC Installation Technician to join our team. You will install, commission, diagnose, repair and start up HVAC systems at customer sites, leveraging knowledge of air conditioning theory and mechanical layouts.

Responsibilities include planning and completing projects on schedule, interpreting drawings, maintaining inventory, and providing on-site training and customer support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus typically 2–5 years in Commercial HVAC installation.
• Technical School or formal training preferred.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with handheld devices (e.g., smartphone, iPad).
• State contractor licenses preferred (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer).
• Valid driver’s license with clean record in past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, diagnose, repair and start-up HVAC systems at customer locations.
• Plan, analyze and complete projects on schedule; interpret drawings and specs.
• Maintain inventory and document parts, labor and costs; track resources.
• Provide on-site training and follow-up training at customer sites; assist with sales leads.
• Represent the company with customers and maintain safety standards.
• Coordinate with other trades and ensure compliance with processes.
