Job summary

AIRO Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to analyze project specifications for Multi-Family HVAC projects and produce accurate cost estimates. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure estimates align with financial objectives.

The role emphasizes on-site data collection, take-offs, and cost analysis, with opportunities to contribute to value engineering and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of mechanical estimating experience.
• Proficiency in estimating software (Trimble or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to understand the scope of work.
• Conduct on-site visits to gather information about project conditions and constraints.
• Complete take-offs and prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Provide input on value engineering opportunities.
• Utilize cost databases, historical data, and industry benchmarks to enhance accuracy.
• Develop bid proposals outlining scope, costs, and qualifications.
• Collaborate with the bid team to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify and assess potential risks that may impact project costs; propose mitigation strategies.
