Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead large HVAC projects of $3M+ for the Building Solutions North America group. The role requires coordinating internal and external teams, managing schedules, and ensuring profitability while adhering to safety and contract requirements.

You will partner with sales, engineers, and installers, handle change orders, and travel as needed to project sites, including the DC market, to drive successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel; projects may exist outside the assigned geography.
• Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex HVAC equipment construction projects $3M+ and travel to customer sites for meetings and troubleshooting.
• Support DC market projects and coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Develop project schedules, assess risk, manage costs, billings, and collections to maintain profitability.
• Review contracts, establish recovery plans, and ensure safety standards are followed.
• Interface with sales, engineering, and installation teams to optimize scope and vendor selection.
• Provide input on change orders, value engineering, and subcontract management.
