Job summary

Trane Technologies in South Carolina is hiring an Application Engineer (Equipment) to manage the equipment portion of projects, validating equipment selection, pricing, discounts and submittals. You will influence strategy and performance against budget objectives, ensuring successful execution from design through to installation.

The role requires HVAC project management or estimating experience, flexibility to work beyond standard hours, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 2 years in HVAC industry with project management or estimating roles
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours as required
• Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate equipment: size, configuration, voltage, options based on plans and specs
• Evaluate potential cost savings or problems across projects
• Validate project scopes by reviewing documents and planning EQ/VPP dollar breaks
• Support sales with preliminary and final submittals; participate in cost reviews
• Negotiate prices with vendors to optimize expenses and maintain competitiveness
