Job summary

Airtron is seeking an HVAC Diagnostics & Preventive Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair residential heating and cooling systems. You will inspect ducting, perform system startups, and document results while maintaining a clean work environment and safe practices.

You will communicate repair options to customers and dispatch, coordinate daily routes with the office, and ensure parts and tools are ready for each appointment. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of HVAC service experience.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Skilled in soldering and brazing.
  • Effective English communication (verbal and written).
  • Basic computer literacy using a computer, laptop, or tablet.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work overtime on short notice; occasional weekends.
  • HVAC trade school certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Inspect ducting and ensure all tools and materials are safe and serviceable.
  • Commission and start up complete residential systems; conduct start-up testing and document results.
  • Diagnose faults, recommend corrective actions, and complete repairs.
  • Explain services performed and repair options in plain language to customers and dispatch.
  • Coordinate daily schedule directly with the office for efficient routing.
  • Order and stage parts ahead of appointments; arrive prepared with required materials and tools.
  • Complete all service documentation accurately and on time.

Partnering closely with the Service Supervisor and Operations team, you will troubleshoot issues, perform precision maintenance, and communicate clearly with customers and dispatch.Your ImpactService and repair residential heating and cooling systems to manufacturer and company standards.Inspect ducting and ensure all company tools and materials are kept in safe, serviceable condition.Commission and start up complete residential systems; conduct start-up testing and document results.Diagnose faults, recommend corrective actions, and complete repairs to restore performance.Perform full-system inspections; proactively alert dispatch/customers to any remaining concerns.Explain services performed and repair options in plain language to customers and dispatch.Coordinate your daily schedule directly with the office for efficient routing.Order and stage parts ahead of appointments; arrive prepared with required materials and tools.Transport and account for assigned parts, tools, and materials responsibly.Complete all service documentation on paper or tablet accurately and on time.Debrief every call with dispatch and the customer, including supporting documentation.Maintain clean work areas and leave homes as tidy as you found them.Keep your service vehicle clean, organized, and well-maintained.Demonstrate professionalism, ethics, safety, and a courteous demeanor at all times.Use protective floor coverings on footwear while working in customer homes.Adhere to all safety procedures; perform other duties as assigned.*Duties may vary by location.What You BringHigh school diploma or GED.1+ year of HVAC service experience.EPA Certification.Skilled in soldering and brazing.Effective English communication skills (verbal and written).Basic computer literacy using a computer, laptop, or tablet.Comfort with internet tools and email such as Microsoft Outlook.Valid driver's license.Willingness to work overtime on short notice; occasional weekends.PreferredHVAC trade school certification.1–2 years of construction, HVAC, or related experience.How You WorkTeam-first mindset; eager to learn and collaborate.Positive attitude; strong customer relationship skills.Comfort engaging with colleagues across the organization.Relevant experience may substitute for education.Safety-focused with commitment to a strong safety culture.Environment & ConditionsWork primarily in occupied homes and construction sites; minimal office time.Drive between job locations.Exposure to active construction settings, including equipment, heights, confined spaces, noise, dust, odors, and hazardous materials.Indoor/outdoor work across all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) with appropriate PPE.Physical DemandsOperate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift as needed.Lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently.Climb, bend, crawl, kneel, and crouch on a regular basis.Work at heights; use ladders and stairs; occasionally work from platforms/scaffolding with required fall protection.Wear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective vests, gloves, and safety-toe construction boots.Stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods.Hear and distinguish speech/sounds to safely operate phones and equipment.Maintain visual acuity (natural or corrected) for close, distance, and peripheral vision with normal depth perception.Communicate verbally to convey information clearly.Enter data into handhelds/computers via standard keyboard or 10-key.Use arms/hands to reach overhead and to grasp, hold, lift, turn, push, and pull tools and materials.Core ProficienciesHVACHeating and Air ConditioningEqual OpportunityAirtron is an equal opportunity employer.
