Job summary

Airtron in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, is seeking an HVAC technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing residential heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. You will evaluate ducts, wire and start up full residential systems, troubleshoot issues, and document performance data for dispatchers and customers.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of HVAC service experience, EPA certification, strong communication, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • HVAC trade school credential preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year HVAC service experience suggested.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair residential heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Evaluate ducting and ensure tools and materials are safe and serviceable.
  • Identify, wire, and start up full residential systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues and complete repairs to keep equipment running.
  • Inspect systems and communicate concerns to dispatch and customer.
  • Explain services performed and recommendations to customers and dispatch.
  • Coordinate daily schedules with the office and order/stage parts as needed.
  • Transport parts and tools; complete paperwork using handheld devices.
  • Debrief calls with dispatch/customer and record outcomes.
  • Keep work area clean and the company vehicle organized.
  • Follow safety policies; wear PPE and maintain professional conduct.

You’ll be the onsite expert ensuring residential HVAC systems are installed right, started up correctly, and kept performing at their best.What you’ll doMaintain and repair residential heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.Evaluate ducting; keep company tools and materials in safe, serviceable condition.Identify, wire, and start up full residential systems.Troubleshoot issues, recommend fixes, and complete repairs to keep equipment running properly.Perform equipment start-ups, test, and document performance results as needed.Inspect systems thoroughly and communicate any remaining concerns to dispatch and the customer.Explain services performed and recommendations to customers and dispatch.Coordinate daily schedules and priorities with the office.Order and stage parts so you’re prepared before each appointment.Transport parts, materials, and tools; maintain accurate accountability for assigned items.Complete all paperwork/tablet entries accurately and promptly.Debrief each call with dispatch/customer and record outcomes.Clean the work area before leaving each job.Keep your company vehicle organized and clean—inside and out.Follow company performance standards and code of ethics.Engage customers and coworkers with courtesy and professionalism.Wear protective shoe covers in customers’ homes.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.Take on additional tasks as assigned.Minimum requirementsHigh school diploma or GED.At least 1 year of HVAC service experience.EPA certification.Proficient soldering/brazing ability.Clear verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively in English, spoken and written.Basic computer skills; comfortable with a computer, laptop, or tablet.Basic internet and email proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Outlook).Valid driver’s license.Willing to work overtime on short notice; occasional weekends.Preferred qualificationsHVAC trade school credential.1–2 years of construction, HVAC, or closely related experience.Team and safety qualitiesGrowth mindset and eagerness to learn.Positive, team-first attitude; collaborates well at all organizational levels.Skilled at building relationships with internal and external customers.Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.Committed to a robust safety culture.Working conditionsWork mainly in occupied residences and/or construction sites; minimal office time.Travel by vehicle to and from job locations.Frequent exposure to construction settings: equipment, heights, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials, and odors.Operate indoors and outdoors in all weather while wearing proper PPE.Physical requirementsDrive and operate a passenger vehicle or forklift.Lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently.Regular climbing, waist bending, crawling, kneeling, and crouching.Comfortable with heights; able to climb ladders and stairs; occasional work on platforms/scaffolding with required fall protection.Wear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, high‑visibility vests, gloves, and safety‑toe construction boots.Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.Hear and distinguish speech/other sounds to operate phones and equipment safely.With or without correction, maintain near/far focus, peripheral vision, and normal depth perception.Speak clearly to exchange information.Enter data using handheld devices/computers with a keyboard or 10‑key keypad.Reach overhead; signal; grasp; hold; lift; turn; push; and pull tools and materials with arms and hands.Physical demands may differ by location.Equal OpportunityAirtron is an equal opportunity employer.
